WPR25 Reference exhibits
“A superbike you can ride every day” is the development concept behind the “R25,” a 250cc sport bike mounting a newly developed in-line 2-cylinder engine on a lightweight, slim and compact chassis that shares its look with the “YZR-M1” MotoGP machine. It boasts both the class’ sportiest ride and top power in the high rpm range while being easy to handle. The R25 is positioned and offered as an entry-model in the sport bike category for developed markets like Japan and Europe, and as the highest performance sport bike available for emerging markets, primarily throughout Asia.
WPMOTIV Others
This personal vehicle for urban areas is currently under research and development, and is based on the idea of creating “a multi-wheeled vehicle that stays true to the original appeal of a two-wheeled vehicle.” It can mount either an electric motor or a gasoline engine for its power unit, and its lightweight, high-rigidity skeleton frame makes various chassis designs possible by changing its structure. Pursuing an entirely new riding experience that retains the fun of a motorcycle, the “MOTIV” offers users another facet of “the growing world of personal mobility” unique to Yamaha, a specialist in small vehicles for personal mobility.
WPBOLT Café Reference exhibits
With the “BOLT's” slim and compact chassis and 950cc air-cooled V-twin engine as a base, the “BOLT Café” is a prototype showing an example of how owners can customize the bike to their own tastes. With the “Vino” scooter model popular for its retro-pop styling as a base, this model features environmentally friendly performance supplemented by smooth acceleration from the precisely controlled motor and optimized front-rear weight balance to ensure excellent handling performance even at low speeds. This concept model is a bike for kids learning to ride and mounts a modularized “EVINO” electric power unit. This year marks the 20th anniversary of Yamaha Motor's PAS electrically power assisted bicycles. Looking toward the next 20 years, this concept model was conceived to encompass both concrete and abstract elements from the key words of “stylish,” “ecological,” “healthy” and “enjoyable.” Combining the smallest and lightest class of drive unit and battery with a beautiful, sporty frame, this model offers the exciting ride characteristic of a hybrid design. TRICITY Concept Reference exhibits
This 3-wheeled concept model currently under development seeks to create a new market for commuter vehicles. It has a 125cc engine, a light and sporty ride, a feeling of stablility and is easy-to-use. This is all wrapped into a beautifully designed exterior with playful appeal. This new off-road vehicle mounts a 700cc fuel-injected engine and is used in outdoor leisure as well as farm work in the agriculture and dairy industries. To achieve both outstanding performance and on-board comfort, it is equipped with the “Ultramatic” drive and transmission system that makes for a smooth ride in all speed ranges, a 4WD system with excellent performance on rough roads for a more comfortable and enjoyable ride, separated seats for three people to sit comfortably with good hold and fit, a flat cargo bed for easy loading, and more.
 
MT-09 Reference exhibits
Aiming to create “a commuter bike that makes the rider look forward to weekend riding as well,” the “MT-09” is a sport bike that mounts a newly developed in-line 3-cylinder engine based on Yamaha’s “Crossplane Concept” on a lightweight, slim and compact chassis. Its strong torque in the low-speed, low-rpm range and great freedom of riding position offer the rider the pleasure of controlling the bike at will even in typical everyday use. Also, its hybrid design that incorporates the dynamic feel of bikes in the naked and supermotard categories is one of its defining features.
 
MT-09 STREET RALLY Reference exhibits
an MT-09 equipped with a number of accessories that expand the world of enjoyment offered by the model will be on display at the Tokyo Motor Show.
 
YZR-M1 Reference exhibits
This is the race machine that competes in MotoGP, the pinnacle class of world championship motorcycle road racing. The “M” in “YZR-M1” stands for the “Mission” to feedback technology born in MotoGP back into production vehicles and the “Mission” to win the championship. Since its debut in 2002, the YZR-M1 has won Yamaha a total of six MotoGP rider championship titles with Valentino Rossi (Italian) and Jorge Lorenzo (Spanish).
 
BOLT-R ABS Currently available
The “BOLT R Spec ABS” is a cruiser model that mounts a 950cc air-cooled V-twin engine on a slim and compact chassis, and it is scheduled for introduction into the Japanese market. Its main features are the excellent accleration in the low-speed range, light and agile handling, its strong “concentrated mass” styling and a sense of quality that accentuates the model’s raw metal feel.
 
FJR1300AS Currently available
This Yamaha flagship sport tourer model fuses the comfort of a tourer with sporty performance to offer a new world of dynamic touring enjoyment. It features the latest in electronic control technology like cruise control, traction control, electronically adjustable suspension and clutchless gear changes through the YCC-S (Yamaha Chip Controlled Shift) system.
 
TMAX530 ABS(BLACKMAX) Currently available
The “TMAX” pioneered the “automatic super sports” category with its debut in 2001, and this 4th-generation model is its latest evolution. It adopts a newly designed 530cc engine with a CVT transmission, belt drive for a more connected feeling of acceleration, a newly designed front cowling and windscreen and more, elevating its performance to even higher levels.
 
MAJESTY-S Currently available
This is a 155cc scooter model that inherits the outstanding running performance and design characteristics of the “MAJESTY” 250cc model that leads the market for big scooters. Its features include a compact body size emphasizing greater ease of use in urban centers, a light and sporty ride and free-flowing styling worthy of a new generation of scooter.
 
YZ250F Currently available
This is the “YZ” series’ 2014 competition motocrosser model. The newly designed engine adopts the same rear-inclined cylinder layout with forward-positioned straight intake as the higher-class “YZ450F” model. The engine functions as one of the stressed members of the chassis structure and the machine achieves excellent off-road and cornering performance.
