The 43rd Tokyo Motor Show 2013
- SMART MOBILITY CITY 2013 -

The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association, Inc. (JAMA, Chairman: Akio Toyoda) is pleased to announce that "SMART MOBILITY CITY 2013" will be held as an organizer-themed project at the 43rd Tokyo Motor Show. The Show will be held at Tokyo Big Sight (Ariake, Koto-ku, Tokyo) for ten days from Friday, November 22 through Sunday, December 1, 2013 (Open to the public from Saturday, November 23).

SMART MOBILITY CITY 2011 was first implemented in the 42nd Show (2011) in an effort to establish a presence as an international motor show that serves as a hub of information, with the goal of becoming the top technology motor show in the world. Additionally for the first time, 170 booths by 35 companies were included from a wide variety of fields, such as housing, telecommunications, and materials. The automated driving demonstration, next-generation automobile test rides, and two international symposiums held during Show dates were also very successful, and the advanced technology of Japan for “smart communities” and “ITS” centered on automobiles was effectively promoted to both Japan and abroad.

Taking feedback into consideration, the 43rd Show (2013) will introduce “Next Generation Automobiles and the Social Systems” with further depth and in a more comprehensible way with the theme of “KURUMA NETWORKING: Vehicles connecting with people’s lives and society.” By taking on an important part of social systems and networks such as for information-communication and energy, cars will enhance safety and reassurance, as well as convenience and comfort. Visitors will understand and realize the potential for creating new industries and markets that cross business category borders.

Exhibitor application dates for SMART MOBILITY CITY 2013 are the same as the 43rd Tokyo Motor Show 2013 and will start on Monday, October 15, 2012. The deadline is Friday, February 8, 2013.
