With “Connect to the Future” as its theme, Yazaki is looking to the automotive society of the future, presenting a variety of technologies that connect car components, connect cars with people, and connect cars with life. Among the technologies on display that connect car components are aluminum cable that makes cars lighter, and noise filters that ensure comfortable car performance by suppressing external noise affecting signals transmitted through the wire harness. The head-up display and full graphics meter that provide information at the best time in the best place are just two of the technologies on exhibit that connect cars and people. Last but not least, the latest drive recorder and charging connectors demonstrate technologies that connect cars with life.

We will release an evolved version of the car ahead detection app announced at last year’s Tokyo Motor Show. The new version is an iPhone app in which the existing car ahead detection function and drive recorder function are combined with an AR navigation function. In addition, the booth features exhibits of our unique new car life proposals, such as linking drive apps with fragrance devices and contact-less smartphone rechargers, that are only possible through the combination of our automobile accessory manufacturing and app development expertise. In line with the themes of the Tokyo Motor Show, we will be announcing a wide range of new technologies including the “D-Vehicle” concept car in which all of our new technologies are installed.

The Interactive Communication Cockpit, will demonstrate how its sensing and human-machine interface (HMI) technologies can work together as an advanced system to improve safety and convenience for future drivers. DENSO’s technologies featured in the cockpit include:・An image sensor, millimeter-wave radar, and vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication technologies, to recognize the surrounding environment and provide various information to the driver on a real-time basis. ・The large-screen head-up display installed to the cockpit to project the presence of hazards such as pedestrians and vehicles coming out from behind buildings or obstacles onto the windshield to alert the driver. ・Communication robot that will check the driver’s health conditions before driving, or let the driver know in advance about potential dangers.
